Last year we Introduced the "EARTHDOG OF THE YEAR AWARD" to encourage more participants to our trials. Points are accrued throughout the year and are awarded for passes and titles. The dog with the most points at the end of the year is deemed the winner, should there be a tie a count back will be conducted and if still a tie the dog with the highest title will be deemed the winner.

This year on our winner was:

Dual Ch (ED) Achnacone Rubies R Red (Ruby) owned by Kerryn Pearson.


 

Welcome to Earthdogs SA

Earthdogs SA owes it's conception to the hard work of Bill & Brigitte Walkey, to which we are eternally grateful for the legacy they have left behind after their return to Canada.

We are a small group of enthusiasts that train and trial during the winter months. New members are always welcome and we are happy to show & tell you about the ins and outs of earthdogs.

Training Dates 2016

Sunday 10th April
Sunday 8th May at the conclusion of the trial approximately 2pm.
Training will commence is April to get ready for our 1st trial on the 8th of May, Starting at 12pm at our grounds at Davd Roche Park, Cromwell Rd, Kilburn (located to the left hand side of the park/rings, by the trees, looking from the road).
Australian Terrier Club of SA Training Day 23rd of July at 12.30pm
 
Everyone is welcome to come watch and have a try. For safety reasons please keep dogs on leads at all times unless under the instruction of our trainers.

The following breeds are classified as eligible to participate in ANKC earthdog tests:

All Dachshunds, Australian Terriers, Australian Silky Terriers, Bedlington Terriers, Border Terriers, Cairn Terriers, Dandie Dinmont Terriers, Fox Terriers (Smooth & Wire), German Hunt Terriers, Glen of Imaal Terriers, Jack Russell Terriers, Lakeland Terriers
Manchester Terriers, Miniature Pinschers, Norfolk Terriers, Norwich Terriers
Parson Jack Russell Terriers, Scottish Terriers, Sealyham Terriers, Skye Terriers, Tenterfield Terriers, Welsh Terriers, West Highland White Terriers.

Dogs on the Associate Register that are of Earthdog type. (terrier crosses)

Moves are currently being made to include other breeds of suitable size. If you have a breed that is not listed but would like to try Earthdogs, please join us on a training day or have a chat at a trial.

Our club is very small and in order to raise enough to fund our trials & maintain the grounds we work a few days of the year in the canteen in conjunction with the Tenterfield Terrier Club of SA. As there is very few of us we could always us a hand in the canteen, so if you can spare some time and assist on any of these dates please contact Tegan.
